Celebrity Dating Trends - Reality Romeos

When it comes to womanizing, Casanova was the most notorious -- that is until the exploits of these television lotharios.  Awestruck viewers are glued to each episode as producers of their “reality” dating shows plot and plan rating worthy moments for our viewing pleasure.  When living the single life, monogamy is one of many options, not necessarily the definitive choice for all.

Chad Ochocinco and Evelyn Lozado
AVOID
Who:  Chad Ochocinco
 What: Engaging Behavior
Oh My Ochocinco!  The Bengals receiver is the gift that keeps on giving in terms of his reality shows.  First he was on Dancing with the Stars romancing Cheryl Burke.  Then, he went from one on one to zone play in The Ultimate Catch seducing scores of young women. And now he’s hustling down the reality-television field again, with his fiancée, Evelyn Lozado (Basketball Wives).  There is definitely a running theme to his business and dating game strategy.
Why: For some singles love and business go hand-in-hand.  Be very cautious when merging your personal life with your business ventures.  If you’re in love or business for the wrong reasons at some point you will find yourself sidelined with potentially career and relationship injuries.

EMBRACE
Who:   Bret Michaels
Bret Michaels and Kristi Gibson
What: Rockers Rule
This rock star dad had three very successful seasons on his show Rock of Love.  Who wouldn’t want a sprawling mansion filled with twenty-five women competing for their affection?  Well he didn’t when a fourth season was offered.  Instead he followed up with a show based around his everyday life with his children and their mother -- an on again off again relationship that has lasted over sixteen years.
Why: There is nothing wrong with enjoying the many pleasures of single life, but when you decide to settle down commit fully to your family and retire your single life for good.

Brad Womack
EXPLORE
Who:  Brad Womack
What: Two for One Special
There are so many shocking moments in reality television and Brad’s first attempt at love on the dating show The Bachelor was definitely one of those moments.  Let’s just say there were a few angry women waiting for him when no one received the final rose at the season finale taping.  Lucky viewers received a second helping of this commitment-phobic bachelor with the second season, and from the looks of his rocky relationship with Emily Maynard, there may be a third season.
Why:  Commitment is a matter of preference. If you are having trouble with the idea of being in a relationship with one person marriage definitely is not for you.  If it’s not your forté, just make it  clear to the people you date.

Talara has a very trendy atmosphere -- the Latin rhythms playing over the speakers entice you before you even walk in the door.  The cocktails are liquid perfection and the mouthwatering entrees are well worth the price, but because the menu is focused more on the sushi and tapas, it’s a great place for those who are fans of this type of menu.

Table Manners:
The bartenders and wait staff are always impressive; very jovial and accommodating.

The Tab:
Pricey - The food and drinks can get quite pricey for those with healthy appetites, but there are affordable options that are just as delicious if you plan a mid-day rendezvous.

Check this place out based on the menu, service, and atmosphere.

Celebrity Dating Trends - Paternity Test

For these celebrities first comes love then comes the paternity test.  The baby news may have been delivered after the break-up, but the true test will come from their public and private displays of responsibility.  At any age parenting can be a lot of work.  Don’t further complicate the experience by co-parenting in conflict.

Chris Rock
AVOID
Who:  Kali Bowyer & Chris Rock
What: Proof is in the Paternity
Yes, I realize that only one of the individuals in this story was actually single, but I do have a point.  Ms. Bowyer claimed that the comedian was the father of her 13-year-old-son and sold the story to the tabloids.  However, testing proved that Mr. Rock was not the father.  Chris requested that any money she made from her lie should be donated to a charity for disadvantaged children.
Why:   Ladies, when dealing with paternity, be honest.  If you don’t know for sure, refrain from telling tales until the evidence is in.  Remember, there is DNA Testing.  Try to consider the other people involved, most importantly the child.

Mel B and Eddie Murphy
EMBRACE
Who: Eddie Murphy & Mel B
What: Signed, Sealed, Delivery
It’s been a few years since this news story made us do a he said/she said tail-spin.  Few knew that these two were even dating.  Regardless, the brief affair produced a very heated war of words and a beautiful little girl.
Why:   As shocking as it may be to hear “you’re going to be a father” from someone you are no longer with (and may even hate), handle the news with grace and dignity.  Even if you aren’t with the mother, provide financial and emotional support for the child’s sake.

Ryan Phillippe & Alexis Knapp
EXPLORE
Who:  Ryan Phillippe & Alexis Knapp
What: To Be or Not To Be the Father
Ryan has always kept a very low profile publicly.  While he is waiting for confirmation of paternity of the unborn child of former girlfriend Alexis, the situation has not shaken nor stirred his views on discretion.
Why:   When dealing with life’s unexpected moments, remember to maintain some decorum.

Celebrity Dating Trends
- Divorced Daters

Destination single probably wasn’t what these celebrities were expecting when they took their marriage vows.  But for these three divorced daters, the land of single is where they ended up.  The key to dealing with becoming single is how you handle the transition.

AVOID
Charlie Sheen
Who:    Charlie Sheen
What:     Public Displays of a Threesome
At least once a week, a major celebrity takes a giant leap into crazy!  When it comes to a televised meltdown Charlie is at the top of the list with his bizarre radio rants, ticking off television executives, and getaways with random porn stars.  Making him an interesting news story, but living it has to be less than entertaining.
Why:    In the simplest terms, the smart solution is not to date while struggling with an addiction or mental illness.  Instead, your focus should be on getting help to overcome your addiction or illness.

Regina King and Malcolm-Jamal Warner

EMBRACE
Who:    Regina King
What:    Mums the Word
Taking the time to get to know each other without prying eyes is a luxury most celebrity daters don’t have.  Yet, this actress managed to keep her three-year relationship with former Cosby Kid, Malcolm-Jamal Warner a private matter until it was something worth shouting about.
Why:    New relationships deserve a bit of privacy, whether you have a public persona to maintain or not.  Savor the private moments before stepping into the spotlight.

EXPLORE
Who:    Eva Longoria
What:    Age-defying Moves
Eva Longoria and Eduardo Cruz
Just because she made a bad choice in picking a young, cheating, basketball-playing husband; doesn’t mean she can’t begin again in the arms of an even younger, even hotter new boyfriend on a yacht in Miami.
Why:    Concealing yourself from the world because of a spouse’s infidelities makes no sense.     The not-so obvious refuge is to continue living your life to the fullest.
