Follow That Single! Oscar’s Sizzling Hot Single Ladies

When it comes to choosing a date for your next V.I.P event learn from these super sexy single ladies that it is all about mixing it up.  It was red carpet glamour time and what did people want to know “who are you wearing” and “who are you with.”  Just because you are single doesn 't mean you don't have options.  With these celebrities “single and proud” grabs the spotlight!

Jennifer “J’Lo” Lopez – Leave the Boy Toy for the After Party
Jennifer is no stranger to the red carpet, and for many of those Oscar occasions she has had some really good looking men on her arm.  But not this year, instead she chose to walk alone.  She did it solo for the main event, however she knew that the best time to appear with her “Boy Toy” was for the Vanity Fair After Party.  Learn from a pro - - you may arrive alone, but no one says you have to end the night the same way.  Know when, where, how, and who is appropriate to bring to those special events!!!!

Sandra Bullock – Messy Affair, Flawless Recovery
Baby Louie’s mom is a Class Act!  This single mom weathered the storm that surrounded her divorce from Jesse James with style and grace.  She may not have walked the red carpet with a date, but what she has mastered is proudly displaying her single status with true inner peace. The lesson in all this is no matter how messy your divorce may have been, you can always bounce back with your head held high.

Octavia Spencer – This Golden Man is Hers
Ms. Spencer cascaded down the red carpet in a gown that flattered her curvaceous body, then she tearfully accepted her golden statue, and what does she do to seal her golden night; thank the academy for sitting her next to a cutie.  For anyone who has felt self-conscious about not having a date learn from her, when you are feeling and looking your best flirt.  Let’s hope she got his number!!!!

Michelle Williams – My BFF is My Side Chick
On awards night Michelle Williams chooses to bring her BFF Busy Philipps as her plus-one.  Who can blame her these nights can be extremely stressful, and nothing can ease stress better than hanging out with a close girlfriend.  Choosing who to take with you for one of the most glamorous nights of the year doesn’t have to be difficult just pick up the phone and call your best gal pal, your guaranteed to have a good time.

The Mix: What’s Marriage Got To Do With It?

I was having cocktails with a friend recently to celebrate her 40th birthday.  As we raised our glasses she wished for a real date with her future husband.  While I would have liked to clank a resounding “YES GIRL!”, I couldn’t.  Instead, I asked “What’s Marriage Got to Do With It?”  While I already knew her answer, I couldn’t help but to think about the countless singles who are wishing for “first-date spouses.”  Was she really wishing to go from dinner and a movie straight to the wedding chapel?

Being a certain age myself, I enjoy the dating process - - the good, the bad, and the simply crazy.  Was she merely trying to avoid the dating landscape and walk into marital bliss?  While it’s possible to meet your potential spouse on the first date, it’s a long shot.  Planning the marriage before the date has even taken place is setting yourself  and the other person up for disappointment.  Lusting for marriage-ready mates is not the answer when you have experienced a lifetime’s worth of failed relationships.  If you rush through the process of dating, you may find yourself in a bad relationship.

Reorient your thinking to appreciate dating as a way to get out of the house, have a lot of fun, and get to know a person.  Relax your focus on the subject of marriage until it’s appropriate.  If you are always looking for spouse potential in a prospective date, try dating your opposite in order to break that cycle.  Finally tailor the dating process to fit your social life.  To find out how to create the perfect balance please contact me at datingcocktails@sprint.blackberry.net

Is Social Media Harming or Enhancing Your Single Life?

Thanks to Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube and the many blogs — social networking is the new tool for communication.  Modern technology
has completely changed the way men and women communicate with each other. The potential to enhance or destroy your single life is completely at your fingertips.

On a day like Valentine's Day, it may seem like the perfect time to rekindle a past relationship, virtual stalk an old acquaintance, or research the latest offerings in on-line dating, the possibilities are endless; however my suggestion is to look for people and options that will enhance your single life and not harm it.

Here are the most common social media mistakes that many singles make:

v  Nude/Partially Nude Photos - - Regardless of the situation or your intention at the time it is never a smart idea to put nude pictures on the internet.  Whatever you post is permanent, even if you delete them, the pictures still may appear on someone’s computer or phone.

v  Venting - - The power to speak you mind is a wonderful feeling however you may not want to post your most recent bad date for others to read.

v  Lying - - It goes without saying that you can find out anything you want about a person you are interested in. Google is better than the FBI, CIA, and is wonderful for running background checks on people.  So be honest with people.  Also, posting out-of-date pictures is lying.

The Valentine’s Day Take Over

Traditionally Valentine’s Day is meant for couples, but for sure SINGLES ARE TAKING IT OVER!!!  And who can blame us this day is meant for LOVE, even if you aren’t coupled up you can share this day with family and friends.  The secret to a great V-Day is to focus on the things that you do have and not on the things that you don’t have!!!

Celebrity Trend Setters – Shining Star Singles

These handsome gentlemen are giving new meaning to the term in their prime.

George Clooney
He’s an A-list charmer who manages to come out of a break-up unscathed and swaggers on to the next Hollywood beauty with style and single sophistication.

 Ryan Gosling
After the movie The Notebook came out ladies began looking at this baby-face star in a whole new way. This sexy single breaks-up fights, never allows his star status go to his head, and stays off the TMZ radar.  Don’t let conventional wisdom fool you – this bachelor has major sex appeal and sensibility.  He’s never been married, has no children, and that’s just the way he likes his “Single Status”.

Idris Elba
This British import is a man of versatility -- an actor, a producer, and an international jet setting DJ.  The one thing we should admire the most about Mr. Elba is the way he never airs his dirty laundry.
